February 24, 2011

I’m cranky today, lost a few buy ins in a short ish session I played earlier. Work on the videos and coaching hasn’t left me with much time to play so far this year and I find i get tiltier quicker when I don’t player regularly. I’m going to try to prioritize playing and getting me some vpp’s in March rather than focusing so much on coaching and hopefully I’ll see a nice turn around. Run good everyone.

February 21, 2011

Hey, sorry to those of you who actually read this. I haven’t blogged for months now but figure I should probably get back into it. It’s a good way to keep track of everything and set some goals going forward. I’ve fully immersed myself in coaching the last couple of months and have a ton of students right now. In fact, I even have a waiting list now lol. Who woulda thunk it? Also, I spent quite a lot of time in the new year putting together a video series on crushing 200nl which I think can help anyone playing ssnl. Here’s the link to buy it off of

The Six Figure NL System: Crushing 200nl in 2011
. If any of you have any questions about coaching or the video series either pm me on 2+2 (thebob) or send me an email at Ok, I’m off to go watch the new documentary “A Kid’s Game: The Story of Online poker” on bluefire. Run good everyone!

On my way home!

November 24, 2010

Heading home tomorrow from my 2 week exodus from the city. I didn’t play as much as I wanted to and ended up giving up on 300k vpps but I still ended up being up a nice amount while I was out of town so that’s good. I’ll get back to updating more regularly when I get back home. Hope everyone is running/playing well.

I`m sitting here with my new laptop (my old one died and I realized i really miss being able to surf the net etc from my couch while watching basketball games etc) just killing time until my copy of black ops gets delivered. I am slightly concerned that I wont be getting it today though as it`s status is still sitting in some warehouse. Normally this wouldn`t be a big deal but I`m heading to my parents new place in Mont Tremblant for a couple of weeks to get some serious grinding in. I`ll post some pictures of the place when I get there.

Poker`s been going pretty well even though I`m a little behind my desired pace to hit my stupid 300k vpps. I`m definitely going to put more hours in earlier in the year next year. I know some people who are going for elite and the end of the year looks like it might kill them so i guess it could be worse than me having to work regular people hours for 2 months.

Random tangent, I turned a hand into a bluff yesterday and got called by top two even though that was only a bluff catcher given the action and it made me think. I feel as though games have gotten to the point nowadays where people just seem to be playing their hands at face value for the most part. Alot of people never checkraise bluff or ever fold if you raise and they have “the top of their range”. It’s kind of annoying in that you have to fold hands like kj on j83 two tone vs some of these people or never checkraise bluff rivers when you pretty much know what they have. It might sound like whining because I got called (in this case the player is probably just better than me) but I really don’t think that most of the calls people make in those spots are because they know you know they know etc but rather just because they’re stations. It’s crazy to think how many people put in tons of hours playing this game and break even/ lose at it.

Should I go harass my concierge again and ask him if my package has arrived? Good luck at the tables.

November 6, 2010

I just 4 bet called off a hand that I thought was jacks only to discover that it wasn’t. It’s the first time that I’ve had that happen in forever. Obviously I didn’t bink. Today started off well but now I’m barely up. Gonna take a break and then probably get some more hands in.

Vpp count: t-108,800

November 4, 2010

The last couple of days sucked with me losing 2700 both days combined. On the upside I made 2675 back today so I`m back on pace for a good month. I didn’t get all my hours in yesterday due to being stuck 2k but I got them all in today leaving me about a day behind the pace I’d set for this month. It’s not the end of the world but I guess I’ll have to make it up some time during the month. I’m running pretty good so far this month which is making this ridiculous 6 hours a day challenge more bearable. Also, yes I realize I’m pathetic and some of you grind 10 hours a day year long but I’m not accustomed to it and it’s mentally tiring for me. Props to those of you who hit elite as it’s obviously ridiculously challenging. Good luck at the tables.

November 2, 2010

Im stopping just shy of my 2100 vpp’s for today as I’m just spent and not playing well. I’m stuck 700 today which isn’t the end of the world. I’ll put up a more extensive update sometime this week with hands but I’m done for now. Run good.

Day 1 in the books

November 1, 2010

Got my almost 6 hours in today and my 2100 vpp’s culminating in a sweat 3100 dollar day. I’m kind of rolling recently though I know that I’m running pretty well. I’ve got to play pretty much 6 hours a day for the rest of the year lol. This isn’t going to be too much fun but hopefully it ends up being profitable at least. Good luck all.

Vpp count: t-115,700

Oh btw, vpp count= t- 117,800

It’s gonna be a fun two months :(

Big day yesterday

October 30, 2010

I think I had my best day of the year yesterday. Won a bunch of buy ins playing the two and the four. Not really many interesting hands, mostly just coolering people and winning when I had the best of it. I ended up going out drinking last night and even though I didn’t have that much I feel a little out of sorts today. I’ve already played 2 hours today but that might be it as I’m supposed to go out tonight and I just don’t feel sharp today.
